A lift-gate is a hydraulic elevator located at the rear of a freight vehicle; the fold down hinged platform is designed to safely lower heavy items to ground level when a delivery dock is not available. If ordering a large, heavy item for a delivery to a location without a dock a lift-gate should be requested when the item is purchased.

Not all freight trucks are equipped with a lift gate. Lift gate service is an add-on (paid for) service not included in the basic zip code to zip code shipping charge. Lift gate service may run between $50 - $150 depending on if it is a delivery to a business or a residential address. Not requesting a lift gate for delivery when one is required may add considerable extra cost in the form of rescheduling fees, warehousing etc. See inside delivery for the next level of delivery service.

Below is an important note when receiving any type of freight delivery.

DO NOT SIGN THE DRIVER'S PAPERWORK UNTIL THE BELOW STEPS HAVE BEEN TAKEN:
PLEASE INSPECT THE EXTERIOR OF THE PACKING WHEN YOUR DISPLAY IS DELIVERED AND IF THERE IS ANY TORN PACKAGING OR DINGS ON THE OUTSIDE OF ANY BOXES, WRITE THE WORD "DAMAGED" ON THE DRIVERS PAPERWORK. THIS WILL SPEED UP THE REPLACEMENT PROCESS IF ANY ITEMS ARE DAMAGED DURING TRANSIT. DAMAGES ARE A RARE OCCURRENCE, BUT AS A PRECAUTION, WE LIKE TO INFORM ALL CLIENTS OF THIS PROCEDURE.
